On the Origin of Species

Back in 1859, Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species was published. There Darwin introduced for the first time his ideas about Natural Selection and Evolution. This is an essential work in the history of science and biology. In it, Darwin argued his theory about how organisms evolve over time through natural selection, presenting evidence wich he had accumulated during his journey on the Beagle in the 1830s and from research and experiments of his own. His theory was widely opposed to the creationist theory current in that time, but the fact that evolution occurs became accepted by the scientific community and much of the general public in his lifetime. Darwin was a real visionary.

Charles Darwin was born on 12 February 1809. 200 years after Darwin’s birth a new being borns, one that will have nothing to do with biology or evolution, although it will have to struggle for life by means of natural selection.

This is some kind of blog that from now on will be celebrating it’s birthday on Darwin’s day. And just to get this thing started i’ve have published a theme for Frog CMS (wich powers this site): Incorporated theme for Frog.

See you soon.
